About Manning Valley Race Club
A proud tradition of country racing in the Manning Valley
Our History
The Manning Valley Race Club was opened in 1974 by Stuart Norman Nivison. In its earliest days, the club was run entirely by volunteers, with materials generously donated by the local community. It was a true grassroots effort that reflected the spirit of country racing.
Ivon Livermore and Don Hopkins played a pivotal role in establishing the club — their contribution is honoured to this day through the Hopkins-Livermore Cup, one of the club's most prestigious races.
On 1 January 2018, the Manning Valley Race Club was formally established through the merger of the Taree-Wingham and Krambach Race Clubs, uniting the region's racing heritage under one banner. Today, the club continues to evolve while honouring its rich history and the community that built it.
